Mark T. Butler was born in Livonia, Michigan on October 22, 1961. He was raised in Dearborn and graduated from Edsel Ford High School in 1979.
After high school, Mark attended Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. He graduated in 1983, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree with a dual major, Political Science and Social Science.
Mark attended law school at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. While in law school, he served as an Assistant Editor of the Wayne Law Review and participated in the moot court program. He graduated cum laude in May 1986.
After law school, Mark worked for several different law firms in the metropolitan Detroit area. These firms ranged in size from small (3 attorneys) and mid-size (12 attorneys) to large (25 attorneys) and very large (250+ attorneys). In 2003, he opened his own office, moving to Mount Clemens two years later.
Throughout his career, Mark has been a trial lawyer, representing individuals and businesses in a variety of matters, including commercial litigation, employment disputes and insurance coverage claims. He has extensive experience in handling business litigation of every type, from straightforward collections and contract claims to sophisticated litigation involving multinational corporations litigating claims involving millions of dollars.
Mark lives in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan with his two teenage daughters.
